Copper Drop Earrings

John S. Brana's handmade copper jewelry collection includes a variety of drop earrings, which are sure to add a feminine and sophisticated touch to virtually any outfit! These drop-style earrings vary in shape and size, with some small teardrop-shaped earrings less than one inch in height, while others extend to nearly shoulder length!

Brana uses a number of different metalworking techniques to create textures, such as hammering to create a gentle dimpling; copper wire is twisted and formed into loops to create chandelier-style drop earrings.

The wire-wrapped drop earrings are a perennial favorite, as the stone beads feature a bright splash of color. Amazonite brings a soft blue color, while Peridot beads are bright green. The wire is wrapped around a drop or disc-shaped piece of wire to create a design that brings to mind visions of Native American dreamcatchers.

John S. Brana's handmade copper jewelry collection includes bright splashes of color, created using a process called patination. In nature, a patina forms on the metal over time. Patination involves placing a coating over the metal to induce the formation of a patina. The color of the patina varies according to the coating type. It can vary from powder blue to vivid turquoise, apple green, black and shades of red and orange.

All of Brana's copper earrings are coated with a lacquer to preserve their color and shine.
