Patinated Copper Jewelry

John S. Brana's handmade copper jewelry collections feature an array of patinated copper jewelry items, including earrings and rings.

Brana's patinated copper pieces are coated with a protective lacquer to preserve the patina and rich color, which could otherwise evolve with age. The patina on these patinated copper jewelry items will not rub off or wear off; it's a permanent, one-of-a-kind finish that makes each and every piece unique.

Patina forms naturally as metal ages; it's evident on old copper pennies and more prominently on the Statue of Liberty (which was once copper colored!) But the patination process can be hastened and created on-demand using oxides and acids. The composition of the precise patinating agent determines the color of the finish. Brana creates an array of different patina colors, including apple green, black, blue, aqua, red, maroon, powder blue, yellow-green and turquoise.

An array of the pieces in John S. Brana's handmade copper jewelry collection of patinated copper pieces such as the lily pad earrings, mushroom ring and leaf earrings also feature unique textures created by processes like chasing. No two items are precisely alike, making your patinated copper jewelry item a truly unique, one-of-a-kind work of art.
