Chased Copper Jewelry

John S. Brana's handmade copper jewelry collections feature an array of chased copper pieces, including earrings, rings, necklaces, bangles, bracelets and scarf rings.

Chased copper jewelry is unique, with a sleek, refined appearance that blends geometric shapes with soft, flowing lines that bring to mind visions of forms found in nature. In fact, John S. Brana's handcrafted chased copper jewelry pieces include leaves, mushroom forms, lily pads, and Brana's highly popular bark copper cuff.

Chased copper jewelry and other metalwork pieces are traditionally made by drawing the design onto a small sheet of copper, which is then heated and allowed to gently sag into a mold or “pitch” which provides the general shape of the piece. As the metal cools, tools are utilized to add depth and detail to the design by tracing the outline that was drawn onto the piece.

John S. Brana's chased copper jewelry pieces are intermingled with gemstones such as Brazilian fire agate, Amazonite, Garnets and Carnelian to add a splash of color, shimmer and depth to the natural forms, which include anticlastic designs, patinated pieces, along with copper link bracelets and earrings.
