Carnelian Jewelry

Carnelian's reddish-orange translucent color makes this gemstone and excellent accent to the warm rich color of copper. Carnelian (also called Cornelian) has a long history and can be found in antique jewelry as carved or engraved cameos and is a form of Chalcedony or Agate. Many Muslims revere the stone as it is said that the Prophet Muhammad wore it in a ring. Carnelian was once thought to still the blood and calm the temper. It gives courage, promotes positive life choices, dispels apathy, and motivates for success in business and other matters. Carnelian is commonly found in India, England, Peru, Iceland, Slovakia, and Romania.
